The Serge DeNimes SS15 launch
party saw a star-studded selection of models, stylists, creatives
etc. all wearing the Serge DeNimes SS15 collection
. I clearly remember when I first saw the video clip on the Serge DeNimes website from the party, where Mikill Pane performed his hilarious lyrics in the foreground, and several increasingly known models were stood in the background looking extremely ‘cool’ wearing some of the sweatshirts with Oliver Proudlock’s SS15 collection
. One of my absolute favourites has to be the ‘Denim Track Sweat’ in Grey. I actually own this sweatshirt
myself, and I absolutely love it! There are several things factors which contribute to this being my favourite.
The first being that it’s obviously of that muted and monochromatic colour palette, second is that it’s actually pretty lightweight – making it perfect spring/summer wear for just throwing on when the wind picks up a bit or when the clouds are on the move across the sky. The third factor is the denim panel, oh my, the denim panel! Now this is what I believe gives these streetwear garments that celebrity ‘factor’.
It evokes a sense of something a little higher end than just your standard streetwear sweatshirt
Keeping in theme of their muted colour palette of greys, whites, blacks and blues; the Nicce London ‘Bloc Sweat’ sweatshirts
which, funnily enough, features a simple block colour design of white on the chest, grey on the lower half and navy on the sleeves, hem and neckline. You could just image your favourite creative spending their day directing a shoot or planning an up-and-coming collection launch party in this kind of sweat during a day in the summer with a breeze in the air. I don’t reckon it’s your everyday commercial ‘Essex’ type celebrity
you would see this in, it’s would be that East-London hipster-type cool-kid! But push your styling efforts and give it a go!
