Sik Silk took over the summer holidays in 2014
! Being spotted at festivals to in reality shows and worn by reality stars. People were expecting big things for the AW14 collection, and they most definitely did not disappoint!
Menswear That Exudes Style
The label was born in 2012, therefore was only a two years young and the time of the release of this collection! But it already had a vast global following due to its huge social media following and media presence, and the brand continues to grow rapidly.
The AW14 collection consisted of high quality, streetwear
separates with a strong Americana influence - perfect for those street style part-takers everywhere. The brand has always had such a unique selling point, something that everyone loves, something that’s different from every other streetwear brand
out there... however something that you just can’t quite put your finger on. This collection was no exception.
Urban Clothing for a New Generation
The original collection consisted of the extremely popular baseball tee and curved tem tee, whilst seeing new additions of the signature block t-shirt and the long fit zip hoodie
along with matching tracksuit bottoms. All pieces were switched up from the SS14 collection with a seasonal palette and colourway of khaki, black, grey, white, navy and maroon.
The AW14 collection’s selection of jackets were outstanding in design and presence – there was a black satin bomber with red lining and a khaki satin bomber with orange lining, both with subtly embroidered ‘SS’ (Sik Silk) or ‘Fairly’ (Fairly Silk) on the chest. But I can’t forget the red check jacket with faux sheep skin lining and collar. That was such a unique piece to add to the urban wear collection which worked perfectly and didn’t look out of place at all!
The Biggest Style Revolution of 2014 - Sik Silk Clothing
Lastly, Sik Silk finished off 2014
with a bang – with a release of their infamous sneaker collection! This is something not many relatively new-to-the-scene streetwear labels
have the guts to do for fear of failing. But Sik Silk impressed the world
with introducing a footwear range to their ever growing collections. The sneakers are available in both a ‘lux mid’ fit and a ‘lux low’ fit and are made from a leather, cow, suede and pig PU mix. Similar to the rest of the brands clothing collections, they were inspired by British, American and Japanese fashion and culture. What’s really special is that they are finished off with gold detailing for luxurious and expensive feel, and come in versatile statement colours of red, white and black. My personal favourite of their footwear collection would be the ‘lux low’ trainer in black – ideal for a daytime wear or an evening wear, dressed up or dressed down. For an Autumn/Winter look
I would advise to pair these with an all-black look for that super luxurious and expensive appearance!
